Velvety Valentine

I promise I didn’t run away! I’m back and with this velvety number!

Dress: (Zara  here, sold out (similar here and hereon sale! with an extra 20% off) | Booties: BCBG/DSW (similar here and here| Mini Crossbody Bag: Kate Spade (similar here and here)

I’ll be honest, I was not big on the velvet trend because I couldn’t find anything that was flattering on me — does that make sense? UNTIL I found this dress during the Zara sale for under $20, then it went on sale for even less (!). Unfortunately it’s sold out, but here is a similar long sleeve dress, in gold (of course!) from Make Me Chic.

Many of you have asked and check in, which is very sweet, due to the launch of the blog around Christmas and my strange on and off absence during the month of January. I’m sharing a wee bit about that.

What happened?

Having a chronic pain illness, among other illnesses, can be very sneaky and knock you flat, in a great deal of comfort borderline or full-on bed rest, for a few hours to a month at any time. Unfortunately, that is what happened to me for the month of January, the day after New Years. Not the best way to start a New Year or a blogging wanderlust journey for a newbie.

Your kind wishes and comments meant a great deal to me, so thank you so much! Those comments made me even more determined to share some wanderlust fun with you.

But wait! There’s more fun to be had. I have many plans for both you and the blog and cannot wait to share them, and see what you all think.

A few hints:

wanderlust global + local travel — the WANDER section of the blog is going to blow up! Heading to Boston/New England, New York and there may be some European holiday inspiration coming your way!

wanderlust wedding — yes, I will finally be able to share some style/decor tips, inspiration and shoots in the WED section of the blog!

wanderlust style — blogger events and fun with the girl squad [loves these babes (!!): A Gallon of Glitter and A Courageous Beauty] among other fabulous ladies!

Thank you so much for actively following along and joining me on this journey! I cannot wait to see where this journey takes us!

happy wandering!

xoxo Janie
