Since Summer decided to shine it’s little rays and raise the temperature today, I thought I would share two of my favorite floral summer maxi dresses, the first photographed by my partner in crime [aka my mother] in Old Town. The second, which I am very excited about, was photographed at Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. by my bestie, Shell from A Courageous Beauty!
Now that Fall is making it’s presence known, now is the best time to buy your summer style pieces on sale. Give that today is Labor Day, there are some special sales. However, if you’re not able to take advantage of this sale, you can definitely find summer pieces on sale throughout the month. I am particularly fond of summer dresses with minimal floral or print design. Combine floral or print design in maxi dresses and I’m sold! Unfortunately, both of these dresses are now sold out; that’s the pro and con of sales. However, I have linked a number of similar dresses both on sale and full-price under $75 for you!
This floral lace maxi dress with a side slit, scandalous, I did not purchase on sale; although it sold out quickly. However, it was still under $28 so I consider that a good deal regardless, and I’m there are many similar that are just as comfortable. In case you can’t tell from my previous posts, I love a dress that is comfortable, not just trendy or stylish. I also know that many petite women opt not to venture into the fashion land that are maxi dresses, but I can’t recommend it enough! This dress is another addition to my collection of summer maxi dresses. They are great for any and all occasions and even lazy days too! It was a great dress that can definitely double as a date night dress, or a special occasion dress. Even though I used the summer to branch into exposed bralettes, I am not as adventurous to wear a completely see-through dress. Luckily, the lace wasn’t so thick but had a slip underneath that reach just at the knee.
The long sleeve floral maxi also has not one but two slits, shock and awe, but it is so light and airy I was able to wear it even on the most humid days. Especially since, I wouldn’t be bothered to wear pants on humid days, a breezy soft maxi dress is perfect. This dress was on sale and a last minute buy before finishing my packing for my unplanned mini vacation to Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. As I mentioned, this particular dress is no longer on sale. However, this floral maxi is just as comfortable and under $28! I’ve never worn a dress like this, long puffed sleeves, and primarily a white dress with pale florals. However, I am so glad I took a chance and got it. I highly recommend taking a chance on a white printed dress or outfit, because you may be surprised at how much you love it!
*I will be sharing more photos from this particular shoot in a later post, so keep an eye out!*
I’m wearing my nude suede tassel block heeled sandals with the floral long sleeve maxi dress and they’re my favorite. Who could possibly say no to a pair of trendy nude sandals that are not only comfy but were 50% off at DSW! I got them for about $25 however, these BCBGeneration tassel sandals are on sale for under $70! Not only are there many summer dresses on sale, but block heeled sandals are on sale, and you know I have to share those with you too. These sandals are perfect for any occasion: work, casual outing, date night, and special occasions. I’ve worn them for 3 out of 4 of those occasions! Let’s be honest, you can’t tell me that you don’t get excited thinking about how little you paid for those blocked beauties and how comfy they are, not to mention trendy.
Let’s enjoy this last stretch of summer, if not for its crazy weather then for its crazy sales.
